Bath Spa Dentistry Announces Short Courses

AN INTRODUCTION TO IMPLANTOLOGY

This course is aimed at dental practitioners with very little or no experience in implant dentistry. At the end of the course delegates should be able to identify suitable implant cases and create a treatment plan as well as have a clear understanding of the prosthetic and clinical procedures involved in an implant case.

Historical perspectives & the future of Implantology in the UK
Overview of implant types and surfaces
Prosthetic principles and variants
Patient identification and assessment
Treatment planning of 'simple' cases
Medical assessment and implications
Practical hands-on workshop - placing an implant into a model

IMPLANT PROSTHETICS

This course is aimed at dentists who have an interest in utilising dental implants in their practice and wish to become involved in the surgical process. The course covers:

An overview of implant dentistry treatment planning and the requirements for successful implants
In depth lectures
Demonstrations of various uncovering and impressions techniques
Delivery of provisional and definitive restorations including laboratory and live restorative procedures.

BONE GRAFTING AND SINUS AUGMENTATION

This course is aimed at dentists who are already placing implants but wish to enhance their knowledge and skills of more challenging cases. Participants learn the principles of bone manipulation, bone and sinus augmentation and soft tissue management.

The course includes:

Lectures
Live surgical procedures
Treatment planning cases
Patient management
Practical demonstrations
The use of CT scans
