Private dentistry for patients with dental phobia
Nervous patients
Whether you feel a little nervous or have avoided the dentist for years because of a genuine phobia, our judgement-free team is here to help you.

A calm dentist clinic for nervous patients in Bath
Plenty of the patients we see feel nervous about visiting the dentist, and for others it's a genuine dental phobia that's kept them away for years.
We're proud to offer pain-free phobia-informed dentistry and sedation options for anyone who needs extra support, whatever level of nervousness you're bringing with you.

It's been years since I've seen a dentist, what happens now?
Many patients come to us after a long gap, often because they couldn't access an NHS practice and have come to us once more severe problems had already developed. If you have anxiety or a phobia, that gap can get even longer.
There's no judgement waiting for you here. Our team's only focus is helping you feel comfortable again, one small step at a time, whether that's simply having a chat on your first visit or working up to treatment over several appointments.

Does it cost more to see the dentist if I need extra support?
We know cost can be one more worry when you're already feeling anxious about visiting the dentist. There are no additional fees if you need extra time for your appointments due to nervousness or phobia.
However, if you need additional treatments such as sedation for dental phobia, you may incur extra charges. We’ll discuss everything with you before we proceed with your treatment, and you can see our pricing guidelines to get an idea of costs before you even speak to us.

Taking the first step, at your own pace
Get in touch, in your own time
Call, email, or send us a message whenever you feel ready. There's no obligation, and you can ask as many questions as you need before booking an appointment.
A no-pressure first visit
Your first visit can simply be a chat and a look around our welcoming surgery, with no treatment if you're not ready to take that step with us yet.
Working towards treatment together
We'll agree on a treatment plan together, working at whatever pace feels manageable for you, with sedation available for those that need it.
Do I need sedation to see the dentist?
For patients whose fear makes even a simple check-up feel impossible, we make sedation available through an external sedationist who works alongside our clinicians.
This can help you stay relaxed throughout treatment, even for procedures you'd otherwise avoid entirely.

Meet the Bath Spa Dentistry team

We’re ready whenever you are
When you're ready to talk to us, get in touch by phone, email, or our contact form, and let us know about your concerns so we can plan your first visit around them.
There's no judgement and no pressure, just a team who genuinely understands, whether you're feeling a little nervous or have avoided the dentist for years.
A team who genuinely understands dental anxiety and phobia
Sarah Broadberry, one of our hygienists, was dental phobic herself as a child, so she has real, first-hand understanding of what that fear feels like from the other side of the chair. The rest of our team follows the same calm, phobia-informed, and patient-focused approach.
Sedation is also available for patients who need extra support, arranged through a trusted external sedationist.
