Root canal treatment, done with care
Root canal treatment
Root canal treatment to relieve pain and save your natural tooth, carried out by experienced dentists with postgraduate training in endodontics.

Gentle root canal treatment in Bath
Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from deep within the tooth, relieving severe pain and saving the tooth from extraction.
We know ‘root canal’ can sound scarier than the treatment itself. Modern techniques, however, mean it's usually no more uncomfortable than having a filling, and your dentist will explain every step clearly, so you always know what's happening and why.

What is root canal treatment?
Root canal treatment is usually needed when infection reaches the nerve at the centre of a tooth, often causing significant pain.
Before beginning the treatment, we’ll administer a local anaesthetic so you don’t feel any pain. We’ll then remove the infected or damaged tissue and clean the space thoroughly, before sealing the tooth with a crown to prevent reinfection.

How much does root canal treatment cost?
The cost of root canal treatment depends on which tooth is being treated and how complex its root system is. You’ll always be provided an exact cost during your consultation, before any treatment goes ahead.
If you have any questions, you can reach out to our team, or head over to our pricing page for general guidelines.

Your root canal treatment journey
A thorough exam
Your dentist assesses the tooth, often using digital X-rays to check the extent of any infection. They clearly explain their findings and answer any questions.
Specialist-informed treatment
After administering local anaesthetic, your dentist removes the infected tissue, carefully shapes the canals, and seals the tooth to prevent reinfection. Often the tooth is restored with a crown for long-term strength.
Aftercare and beyond
We'll book any follow-up needed, and let you know what to expect as it heals. If you have any concerns, support is only a phone call away.
Do I need root canal treatment?
Root canal treatment is usually needed when the pulp at the centre of a tooth becomes infected or severely damaged, often caused by deep decay, trauma, or a crack in the tooth. Signs to look out for include:
- Persistent tooth pain
- Sensitivity to hot or cold
- Swelling around the tooth
- A tooth that's darkened in colour
Sometimes there are no symptoms at all, which is one of many reasons regular check-ups matter.
