Looking After You And Your Smile

At Bath Spa Dentistry we provide the most up-to-date treatment options available.

Fillings

For many years Fillings have been made from a metal called amalgam, which is silver-grey in appearance. We use white Fillings, or ‘composite resin restorations’, at Bath Spa Dentistry for a more natural look.

Crowns

Crowns are used to replace broken, decayed or misshapen teeth.

At Bath Spa Dentistry we can offer Crowns in a single appointment using revolutionary CEREC technology.

Bridges

A Bridge is a series of Crowns joined together to fill or ‘bridge’ a space left by the loss of one or more teeth. They last 10-15 years and once fitted look and feel like natural teeth.

Traditionally it takes 2-4 weeks to make a Bridge in a laboratory but we can design, mill and fit Bridges in a single appointment using revolutionary CEREC technology.

Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal Treatment (RCT), also known as endodontics, is a dental procedure that aims to treat infection inside a tooth. Bacteria live in the mouth and can invade the tooth for many reasons such as tooth decay, leaky fillings or damage as a result of trauma.

Veneers

Veneers are thin slivers of porcelain, which are permanently bonded to the front surface of the teeth.

They can be used to change the shape, size and colour of teeth with little or no need for filing. Veneers usually last for 10–15 years.

Dentures

Dentures (or false teeth) are a removable and cost effective solution for replacing one or more missing teeth.

However, Dentures can move when eating/speaking, may limit dietary choices and make some people feel self-conscious.  We can stabilise Dentures using dental implants, or can recommend other options for replacing missing teeth, such as Bridges or Implants.

Gum Shields And Night Guards

A custom mouth guard, or Gum Shield, is a protective device for children/adults that sits over your teeth while playing sports.

We also make custom Night Guards for ‘teeth grinders’ and ‘clenchers’ to prevent constant damage to the teeth.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Bridge procedure painful?

In order to fit a Bridge, the teeth either side of the gap are prepared. Your dentist will apply local anaesthesia to numb the area. Although it isn’t painful, the disadvantage of having a Bridge is the preparation will involve drilling on healthy tooth tissue that otherwise would not need to have anything done to it.

How long do Veneers take?

The process of making Veneers takes 2-6 weeks.  Your dentist will prepare the teeth (if required) , take impressions, place temporary Veneers and wait for the laboratory to construct the permanent Veneers.  A try-in appointment may also be necessary to check you are happy with the size, shape and colour of your new teeth.

Why are custom Mouth Guards better than 'over the counter' Mouth Guards?

We take an impression of your mouth to create a perfect fitting Mouth Guard. Bespoke Mouth Guards provide the most protection and are the most comfortable to wear.
